Vale Malaysia Minerals Sdn Bhd — a unit of Brazilian mining giant Vale SA, the world’s largest iron ore producer has its Teluk Rubiah Maritime Terminal iron ore distribution hub in Lumut, Perak.
China is its biggest Asian customer and revenue contributor. With its Teluk Rubiah hub, which began operations in Oct 1, 2014, had shortened the shipping time of its iron ore to China to 10 days (from Malaysia), previously, it needed an average 30 to 40 days to ship from Brazil.
VALE Malaysia has a very large Jetty with several hundred numbers of steel piles which is protected by a very large ICCP ( Impressed Current Cathodic Protection) system. VALE invited selected companies to participate in the tender to propose a package of solution for inspection and assessment of ICCP and also to carry out maintenance of hundreds steel piles.
As usual, VJIKKS ENGG POWER (M) SDN BHD with a very strong hands on experience in ICCP Maintenance, proposed a unique, innovative and economical solution. VALE impressed with the proposal and thus awarded the contract to VJIKKS ENGG POWER (M) SDN BHD.
With this prestigious contract, VJIKKS ENGG POWER (M) SDN BHD is now entering into ICCP and Steel Piles Maintenance in ports also.
